Inge is a German-born Holocaust child survivor of the Theresienstadt ghetto where she survived as a 7-year old girl with her parents and her doll, called Marlene – named after Marlene Dietrich. Her doll and many photos of her childhood have survived to this day. 

After the war, Inge emigrated to the United States with her parents where she suffered for many years from TB and was saved by the discovery of Streptomycin. She went on to pursue a career as a chemist and only began to open up about her Holocaust experience as a result of visiting Israel and attending one of the first Holocaust survivor gatherings held there in the 1980s. She went on to write several books, poems, music and continues to be an active speaker focusing on primary students and young students around the world, but in particular in Germany. Inge has vivid memories of her childhood, and her experiences in Theresienstadt to this day and is able to convey these experiences especially to younger audiences in an accessible and empathetic way.
